"I knew at our first visit that Chloe was the midwife for our growing family - she was calm, gentle, funny, and knowledgeable. I instantly felt comfortable and happy in her presence. My husband and our two year old daughter came to all the appointments and Chloe was incredible with Esme; always talking and listening to her questions and comments, letting her turn on the doppler and measure my belly. Esme always looked forward to our appointments and still adores Chloe and talks about our son's birth with excitement and joy. As my midwife, I cannot say enough about Chloe's ability to make me feel capable and empowered which I believe led directly to my husband and I's decision to have Rem at home. Initially nervous about making the decision, I became more and more certain as my due date approached and when Rem arrived after three hours of intense labour I knew that it was the best decision we ever made. The night was as magical and empowering as I dared to hope and that was due in large part to Chloe's quiet strength and warm support. Not for one moment did I consider anything but the contraction in front of me - having Chloe, my husband and our doula around me in our home allowed me to focus on birthing our son in a completely natural and nurturing way. In the postpartum period Chloe's visits were a highlight and her support and encouragement were invaluable. "Barbara provided us with exceptional care for the delivery of our son. We chose to deliver in a hospital setting and she was very open to our wishes, even when we wanted to move towards a change from our birth plan. She also got along very well with hospital staff, which made our overall axperience even better. Monthly visits were always relaxed. We never felt rushed.
